The Committee on Environment and Natural Resources Research (CENR) Subcommittee on Ecological Systems (SES) established the Work Group on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Informatics as a focus from which to improve coordination of Federal biodiversity and ecosystem informatics activities, and eventually to coordinate or meld its products with those of the non-Federal sector, as well as with international efforts.

The bioeco.gov web site provides an online resource for the Biodiversity and Ecosystems Informatics work group. The site provides references, activity information, and a venue for sharing information generated by and provided to the work group.

BioEco Work Group Activities

The BioEco work group meets several times a year to carry out its chartered missions. The work group also sponsors workshops and other fora to promote understanding of the issues and technologies pertinent to biodiversity and ecosystems informatics.
